A WALDORF-INSPIRED IN-HOME PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
FOR 3 - 6 YEAR OLDS
Nestled within the home of Ms.Rhae,
The Haven Preschool is a home away from home for young children, offering a nurturing and
gentle first school experience.​
The program is mixed-age for 3-6 year olds, and the class size is small and nourishing at 10-14 children, with two or three teachers present at all times. Ratios are never less than 6:1. Potty-trained is not required.
Since the program is mixed-age, children are invited to join The Haven Preschool for 2-4 years. This offers a beautiful foundation for a child's first school experience, and a beautiful opportunity to join a community!
The Honeybees Preschool Program is 3 mornings a week:
Monday: 9:30am - 1pm
Tuesday: 9:30am - 1pm
Wednesday: 9:30am - 1pm​
The program follows a typical school year, beginning in mid-September and ending in mid-June.
What is Waldorf-inspired?
Taught by a Certified Waldorf Teacher, The Haven Preschool is technology-free, with focus on creating meaningful relationships with one another and the sacredness of FREE PLAY.
(What is Free Play? Free play is when a child has true freedom in play. There is no structure, no adult direction, and no guidelines to follow. A child is able to freely explore, create, discover and imagine. Free Play is sacred time for a child's development of self and with others.)

Children enjoy indoor FREE PLAY within The Haven Preschool classroom (in a dedicated classroom space within Ms.Rhae's home), and outdoor FREE PLAY within the fenced-in play yard. Daily outdoor play is enjoyed rain or shine.

Indoor toys are primarily handmade from wood, wool, silk, or cotton.
​
The program follows a gentle and predictable Waldorf-inspired daily rhythm. This comforting and predictable rhythm offers young children a safe place to create meaningful relationships with one another and to truly relax into the freedom of PLAY.

Monthly Craft projects are nature-based seasonal crafts, such as: planting seeds in the spring, rolling beeswax candles for holiday gifts, making an ornament, etc. Daily activities also include: watercolor painting, tending to the garden, washing and folding napkins, washing dishes, and sweeping.
